the polygamous plight series
Welcome to the kingdom citizens blog!
Our faithfulness to Christ causes us to flourish, benefiting the relationships we have with mankind as well. Likewise, our unfaithfulness to Christ naturally reaps unfavorable outcomes with God and mankind.
Think about times you’ve purchased something or acted out a plan, after saying to yourself, “I’m not in love with it, but it’ll do.” This is the polyamorous mindset of an unfaithful builder. Instead of passing on those who would attempt to court you in your lack, and remaining true to what you genuinely need, you substitute what God has reserved for a predetermined time. Please don’t go for what you can receive now in your lack of patience and preservation. Wait on God. He knows what He’s doing.

Imagine This Scenario
A dinner date at your favorite restaurant is reserved tonight. In order to even get a table here, your spouse had to make the reservation months ago. But low and behold, they were able to secure your place in line for this special night. This restaurant is top of the line with dishes you’ve never tried before. But tonight is your night. You can finally indulge in all of the delicacies of the evening with the one you love, eating and dancing, dressed to the nines on this grandiose occasion.
Now COnsider This...
Though you know this five-star restaurant will serve between five to twelve courses (at your discretion), you are feeling a bit hungry now. Counting down the minutes, you remind yourself that you have less than four hours until you’ll be seated in the booth of your dreams. Some in this position may choose to fast until dinner, considering the elaborate courses to come. Others may nibble on some fruit or veggies; nothing much, just enough to hold them over until dinner. But you choose to Uber-eats a box of your favorite cookies (Tiff’s Treats…because, why not? lol), with a shake. What could be the harm of eating a few cookies, washing them down with a shake? Cookies are a small snack and the shake is all liquid anyways, so it will barely take up any space in your stomach, right?
There’s nothing wrong with a healthy snack or even a couple of cookies. But the problem is that you can’t just have one cookie. This freshly baked dozen of cookies are still warm like they just came out of the oven. You got home a bit later than you wanted to because traffic was crazier today than most days. The babysitter is running late and the kids are driving you crazy, bugging you, because of course, they know you have a reservation you are preparing for. Under the stress of your day, you sip through the entire shake, also snatching a cookie each time you walk past the box that you are praying your kids can’t sniff out through the rampant chaos of their playtime.
Before you know it, the box of cookies has been reduced to a few crumbs. The shake upset your stomach because you slurped it down before your spouse could ask for a sip. The sugarrush is now kicking in on your way out the door, triggering a headache and a sluggish feeling. But you refuse to miss out on the reservation you've been waiting months to delight in. You get to the restaurant, take your seat, and all of a sudden the “snacks” you wolfed down in the chaos and anxiety of your day are beginning to prevent you from enjoying this experience you desired so deeply, for so long.
The wonderfully elaborate dishes you’ve been salivating over all these months are finally in front of you, cooked to perfection and ready to eat. But nausea is settling in. Each whiff turns your stomach as you wrestle with the discomfort of eating too many sweets just a couple of hours ago. Sluggish and irritated, you no longer feel like eating or chatting. Dancing is out of the question and now your spouse is giving you back the same annoyed energy you’ve been giving them since you left the house. What was intended to be a beautiful evening that celebrated love, is now a feverish desire to crawl into bed and shut the entire world out so you can recover.
Now this may be an extreme example for some or right on the money for others. Either way, we want to be careful not to disrespect the elaborate and perfected reservations the Lord has for us by inviting in foreign and harmful ideas and resources. Attempting to expedite what the Lord has already planned out and purposed for our good will only set us back. And like this couple at the five-star restaurant, we’ll either forfeit the opportunity altogether, or be unable to enjoy the golden apples, silver plates, and precious stones prepared to perfection — set to satisfy the production of perseverance.

In Closing Out This Series
The Lord's sovereignty commands the cosmos. He is our Lord-God, which means that Yahweh is our King, Protector, Provider, and Prize. As the Moral Arbiter of all creation, the Lord defines the moral boundaries we are to respect in the same way the sea must respect the shoreline He has established (Proverbs 8:29). When we move God out of the way to achieve our own goals, we idolize our own free will. In this way we fancy ourselves a god; becoming the lord of our desired destiny.
In choosing our own way over God's will, we leave the shelter of His grace and open ourselves to the very foreign foes He had been holding at bay outside the safety of His boundaries. The agitation of foreign combatants in league with compromised components will only lead to a great fall of disaster in our prideful attempt at ascension. Trust the Lord. Trust His timing. Wait on His will and suffer well through trial and temptation. Counterfeits will never truly satisfy but joyful submission to the Lord in our obedience can provide the five-star experience that no person could even dream of.
Contrary to popular belief, we are not our own. All of humanity was purchased with a price - the blood of Jesus Christ. Whether we choose to respect and honor His sacrifice or not, justice will be served on Judgment Day. For those who willingly and faithfully submitted to Christ as their Lord and Savior, we have an eternal inheritance awaiting us on our divine day of rewards and accolades. For those who chose to rebel against Christ, not recognizing Him as Lord and Savior - they unfortunately will face the consequence reserved for the wicked in the Lake of Fire.
Be careful to weigh your choices wisely. Either Jesus Christ is the head of your life or Satan is. There is no middle ground. By default, all those who refuse Christ's proposal are categorized with fornicators, adulterers, and the wicked alike. Please don't let this be you. Please don't fall into the deception that you are the master of your own life. We are only steward's over this temporary body and life. Something so much more, so much greater, so much more excellent and beautiful awaits us in matrimony with Jesus Christ. I pray you are counted in that number when we enter that eternal bliss. Selah.

Scripture of Emphasis:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NASB)
"16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
